Cannot edit elementor pages using Generatepress
10 replies · Started by Lior on January 14, 2019
This happened after I imported a couple of elementor templates. For some reason I'm only able to edit the header image but cannot edit any pages or other templates. Following elementor's debugging safe mode troubleshooting (found on https://docs.elementor.com/article/471-debuging-safe-mode?utm_source=safe-mode&utm_medium=wp-dash&utm_campaign=learn) - when switching to twenty-seventeen I'm able to edit everything, so it must be something with the GP theme's code... Any suggestions?? Would be much appreciated :-)
Hi there,
Are you getting any specific errors?
No - stuck on elementor loader and can only access using safe mode or changing a theme...
Here are 2 related errors I've managed to get:

That is an Elementor error:

You can see that they suggested using GeneratePress to test.
Their support should be able to identify the exact issue for you.

Thanks Leo, I'll try them then :-)

No problem :)
Just a tiny thing I've discovered (maybe it will help with troubleshooting...) >>> It seems to only happen on Generatepress child theme (taken from here
Any suggestion on where maybe I might want to add the "<?php the_content(); ?>"
And also - Maybe it'll help to update the child? Or maybe it's just me having this issue hehe
The child theme uses the parent theme template files, which all use the_content() where necessary.
The most common solution to that issue I've seen is clearing your browser cache.
