Is there a DIFFERENT child theme here to download, versus the ones at WordPress?
Thanks

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperThere’s a completely blank one meant for customization here: http://generatepress.com/api/themes/generatepress_child.zip
Other than that we only have the ones on WordPress.org for now.

Does BLANK only mean no colors only? Or is their more aspects to BLANK?

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperIt looks exactly like the default GP theme – by blank it means there’s no customizations. It’s ready for you to add your custom CSS or PHP.

Hi Tom
Does this use the latest recommended way of using a child theme please?
Thanks in advance.

Can I ask a totally rookie question related to this?
I’m interested in doing more customization beyond the additional css code that is part of the wordpress customization interface.
I’d also like to add custom taxonomies to posts and pages, which seem to involve more back-end customization. It might involve a few PHP bits that I’ve seen Tom post, and adding some ACF fields to the interface.
Can this be done by using Generatepress hooks and additional wordpress CSS, or should I create a child theme to allow more flexibility?
If I’ve already added tons of additional CSS without a child theme, will this cause any problems?
Thanks

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
Child Themes are a necessity if you want to make changes to the Theme templates and functions or if you’re going to write your own.
It sounds like you want to get into more custom development and I would therefore suggest adding a child theme.
CSS in the Additional CSS is only a problem when you get into 100’s of lines. But if you have a Child Theme then its also worth moving it to its own style.css
