On second thought, I think your idea is better :) Thanks Stacey
If you wanted to add a widget into a non-widget area, you could use a plugin like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/amr-shortcode-any-widget/
Then add the shortcode into the Copyright add-on area :)
Hello, My question is a bit related to the question "how to edit the content of the footer" or "how to add a widget to the footer". I want to include a translation plugin, a menu, a subscription form and social networks section to a webpage. What I want to do is basically to have a section just like at the bottom of all the pages in generatepress.com where you have four extra columns above the copyright section (Generatepress, Support, Popular Fqas, Connect) so my question would be: How did you make that section in your footer?
That section is using the built in footer widgets. This article should help: https://generatepress.com/knowledgebase/choosing-footer-widgets/
< Solved: I had to simply keep trying to save until it worked >
Hi Tom,
So far, so great!
I am trying to edit the footer according to your tut located at:
https://generatepress.com/downloads/generate-copyright/
All code was copied and entered to the tee. In the customizer my content is edited fine; however, when I click save nothing happens and I need to back out of the customizer. Have you heard of this before?
Thanks!
Joseph
That's very strange.
If it keeps happening, let me know. Might be one of your plugins causing an issue.
