[Support request] Automatically generate category meta tags?

Hello,

For tracking purposes, we need to create meta tags for our post categories. So in other words, if a post is in the category “example category”, its category meta tag should be “example category”.

Is there some code snippet we could add to output this? I know there’s a meta tag plugin, but we’d prefer to add as little code as we can.

I’m not aware of a simple solution unfortunately. I would recommend checking with WP’s support team as this wouldn’t be a theme-specific request.

The plugin might be your best bet. I’m not sure but it could be a very simple plugin.
Keep in mind that code is code – doesn’t matter if it’s added as a snippet or plugin, it’s still code.

The best way to tell is to run your site through speed test before and after implementing the plugin to see if there is actually a noticeable difference in the performance.
