Advice: How-To (dynamic widget)
3 replies · Started by Tom on December 27, 2022
Okay,
This MAY be beyond basic capabilities.
I have a CPT (boats) with widgets on the right side.
I would like a dynamic widget that lists the salesman associated with a particular boat.
I would also like a button that downloads a PDF OFF the boat on the CPT.
I realize I can design a full width page with two columns - but that defeats the widget set-up. (And would like to learn the proper way to do it anyway - if there is one that does not involve editing any templates.)
Is this even possible to do:
1 - create a dynamic widget (in the widget area)
2 - that is associated with a particular CPT?
-> Specific sales person
-> Button to specific model's flyer
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
Hi Tom,
I would say that in theory, anything is possible with a custom-coded widget.
I believe your requirements wouldn't be super complicated but can't say for sure.
If this is a required feature for your site, then your best option would likely be hiring a developer using a service like Codeable suggested at the bottom of this article:

Hope this provides some insight :)
Absolutely not required. Just thought I’d ask to make sure I wasn’t missing something (as I learn).

Good luck!
