Hello:
I have just installed GP Premium this afternoon and I am very excited.
I want to position my logo centrally but I have a few issues.
You can view a screenshot here.
1. In following the instructions the text “Menu Item Navigator” displays and I need it gone.
2. The post title is also very squashed.
I followed the instructions for centre-ing the logo and I have added a header element and I tried to follow the instructions doing this and merging it but I don’t think I have got it right.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
August 3, 2019 at 1:58 pm #975007LeoStaffCustomer SupportHi there,
Can you temporarily disable the header element that’s adding the merge layout?
I don’t think that’s what you want to achieve?
It would certainly help if you can provide an example of what you are hoping to achieve.
Let me know if I’m missing something.
August 4, 2019 at 4:25 am #975268JamesI have deleted the header element and it hasn’t changed the look.
The design that I want can be seen here.
I just don’t know how to get there!
Thanks,
August 4, 2019 at 7:05 am #975320DavidStaffCustomer SupportHi there,
can you follow these instructions for creating the split navigation look:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/centering-logo-navigation/
August 4, 2019 at 7:26 am #975331JamesHello:
From the article on centering the logo navigation, I followed steps 1-7 from the Using the Header approach but it doesn’t explain why the text for Menu Item Navigator is displayed over the logo.
Why is that there? How do I delete it?
Thanks
August 4, 2019 at 7:32 am #975333DavidStaffCustomer SupportIs that the menu item you added to create the separating space?
If so edit the menu item and give it the CSS cless ofmenu-item-separator
as per the article. This will hide the menu item and create the space needed for the logo to sit in the center.August 4, 2019 at 7:42 am #975344JamesOK:
Now we are talking!
When I create a custom link, there is no box to put any css in.
I only have a box for URL and Navigation Label.
Here is a screenshot
August 4, 2019 at 7:45 am #975345DavidStaffCustomer SupportThat option needs activating – this article will explain how:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-wordpress-menu-builder/#custom-classes
August 4, 2019 at 7:47 am #975348JamesI have fixed it. I missed the explanation about how to add a css box to menu items. It is fixed now. Thanks.

August 4, 2019 at 8:02 am #975486JamesIs there anyway that I can position my logo dead centre?
Currently in the blank space between all the other menu items it is “right aligned”. Is there anyway that I can get it centred?
Here is a screenshot of what it looks like currently.
August 4, 2019 at 8:09 am #975490DavidStaffCustomer SupportThe logo is actually dead center in the navigation. The issue is the menu items on the right hand side are occupying more space then the left. Something you would need to consider in the design.
Simplest option would be to make the Customizer > Layout > Primary Navigation > Container > Full width – this will push the menu items out to the edge of the browser.
Alternative is to shorten the menu items or re-arrange them for better balance.

December 2, 2021 at 4:58 am #2035582JamesI have a new site and on this site I have managed to center the logo but I then want the five or six menu items to appear either side of the logo and to appear level with it- not above it or below it.
This image shows the current mess I’m in.
I have looked at centre logo documentation but when I look at some of the associated docs such as “navigation location” my head just begins to spin.
Thanks
