When using sections, it is possible to make a Box type full width.
Is it possible to insert such an full width element in a normal blog post? This would be great for tables or such things, that need more space.
July 27, 2019 at 9:57 am #968753LeoStaffCustomer SupportHi there,
Unfortunately, that is not possible without Sections currently.
We are actively working a section type block plugin which will make this possible.
Stay tuned π
July 27, 2019 at 10:07 am #968759SonjaOk, this sounds like a very usefull plugin. Looking forward to that.
But for now: If I make a section blog post, how can I prevent a after main content element from being also full width?
July 27, 2019 at 10:09 am #968761LeoStaffCustomer SupportNot sure if I fully understand.
The box type (full width/contained) in Sections can be adjusted individually for each section added:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/sections-overview/#layoutOr am I missing something here?
July 27, 2019 at 10:27 am #968768SonjaI know, that the sections can be adjusted individually. But I have a after main content element, which automatically is full with, if use sections.
If I donΒ΄t use sections, then this element is contained. I want, that this element is contained if I use sections.

Let me know π
July 28, 2019 at 1:19 am #969025SonjaI have edited the original post with a URL, where you can see this element. This is a relatet post element after content.
If I make a post with sections, then this is also stretched to full width, which looks ugly.
Maybe it is better to wait for the plugin, Leo mentioned. Do you have an idea, when this plugin gets published?
July 28, 2019 at 6:51 am #969165TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi there,
It doesn’t look like that page is using Sections. Did you switch things up?
Let me know π
July 28, 2019 at 7:27 am #969200SonjaNo, it is not using sections. But you asked about this element and there it is after contentn.
The post with sections is a draft. Because of the problem I mentioned, I could not publish it and have decided to make a normal post out of it.
But I definitly need often the possibility to put a full width element in a normal post or page, so I am looking forward to the plugin.
Do you have an idea, when this plugin gets published?
July 28, 2019 at 7:05 pm #969658TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperTry this CSS:
.generate-sections-enabled .rpbt_shortcode { max-width: 1200px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; }
We don’t have a solid date for the plugin yet, but we’re working hard on it.
July 29, 2019 at 8:48 am #970250SonjaThanks, I will try this in the next post, where I need sections.
How do we get notified when and where this plugin will be published?
July 29, 2019 at 10:23 am #970324LeoStaffCustomer SupportIf you join our Facebook group GeneratePress Community, we will for sure announce it there π
September 13, 2019 at 9:56 am #1008839SonjaHi, any news about this plugin?
