    Hi

I’ve created an Elements item for No Footer Layout.
    • Set Footer to 0 Widgets.
    • For Display Rules I’ve set location apply to a number of pages and post types, mainly non-shop related pages. This is working fine except I’d like the rule to apply to two category archive pages called Workshops and Clinics (these are part of WooCommerce).
    https://sg-demo2.getondigitaldesign.co.uk/product-category/workshops/
    https://sg-demo2.getondigitaldesign.co.uk/product-category/clinics/

But whenever I try to do this is hides the footer on every shop category archive.
    Please see image here

    Many Thanks
    Scott

    Hi there,

can’t seem to replicate this issue. Is it only on Product Archive Categories that this occurs?

Do you have any other elements attached to them?

    Hi David,

It’s on the Workshop, Clinics Product Archive Categories.
    No other elements assigned.

    Thanks
    Scott

Just to confirm, are you using the latest version of GP Premium?

When the archive item disappears from the select box, are there any errors in the “Console” section when you right click + Inspect the page?

    Hi Tom,

I was on Version 1.7.7 just updated to 1.7.8.

I’m getting this error on both chrome and safari.
    /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php:1
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 503 ()

    Thanks
    Scott

This means AJAX in the WordPress admin is hitting a server error. Any chance you can check with your hosting to see what might be happening in this case?

Your error_log file might have specific details on the error.

    Hi Tom,
    Thanks for looking into this.
I’ve opened a ticket with the host, lets see what they say.

    Hi Tom,

The host recommended updating my PHP to 7.2 which I’ve done.
I still get the same error message. Even though the Display Rule is actually working for these Category Archives Workshops and Clinics
    https://sg-demo2.getondigitaldesign.co.uk/product-category/workshops/
    https://sg-demo2.getondigitaldesign.co.uk/product-category/clinics/

Also still can’t see the correct names (fields/dropdown) after selecting and updating.

This is what the Host said.

In any event I can see that you have hit and/or are close to CPU, memory and IO limits over the last 24 hours. You can see this yourself in cPanel > Metrics section > CPU and Concurrent Connection Usage.

I’ve checked your PHP settings and they seem sensible – but I notice that you are using PHP 5.6. My first suggestion would be to migrate to V7.1 or V7.2 of PHP – you can do that on-the-fly in cPanel too – cPanel > Software > Select PHP Version.

There are numerous security and performance reasons to move from PHP5.x to PHP7.x – and you may find that fixes the problem.

I’ve checked through the error_log file in the sg-demo2 directory – but that isn’t showing anything logged for today.

Please try changing the PHP version when it’s convenient for you and let us know if you’re still having issues.

    Thanks
    Scott

How many product categories do you have? A lot?

It works for some product categories, but not others?

Been playing with this on my development site and can’t reproduce the issue at all.

    Hi Tom,

    Not many categories about 19.

I just did a test, I backed up the site and restore it locally using Desktop Server.
I changed the Location settings per item, updated it, closed it and went back in and all the items display correctly. Also the fields all load correctly with a name albeit a bit slow.

I’ll try transferring this copy to Siteground where I have another hosting account to see if the same thing happens.

    Thanks
    Scott

    Hi Tom,

I think the issue is with the hosting plan for that particular website
the Physical Memory Usage 512 MB. I think an upgrade is only round it.

    Thanks

Ah, that sucks. I’ll see if there’s anything we can do to make sure it works on lower-memory servers.

    Hi Tom,

    That would be good.

Just to let you know absolutely no problems with elements on Siteground (grow big plan).
The issue is with Krystal (AMETHYST plan).

    Thanks
    Scott
