The title says it all. I have comments turned off in WordPress settings and in the past themes I used either followed that setting or had a setting to disable posting comments on all pages and posts. In my case I found GP showing the comments area on an old post. For now, I put in a bit of css to hide the .comments-area div. However, if there a hook or something I could use so that the comments information isn’t even generated on the page?
Yes, apparently old posts are showing comments. Years ago I had comments enabled before turning them off in the last few years. So basically GeneratePress shows comments no matter what if they were enabled on the post in the past?
Again GP does not handle this part, it’s WordPress.
Have you tried my suggestion? (quick edit > uncheck allow comments). That’s what you have to do for old posts (posts that created BEFORE you turn off comments in settings).
