Marjorie
I created a query loop using the new updated GP (which is easier now) and this is linked to a category on my blog. The location is Post Category then Beginner Cat Photo Skills. My questions is how do I add the element I created to a new page?
I know I used to use a hook to locate where the element went but this doesn’t work now as I put Post Category instead. Can you tell me if I am going about creating the query loop the wrong way?

Hi Marjorie,
The Query Loop Block is a GenerateBlocks feature.
It can be directly added to a Page through the Block Editor.
Are you planning to add the Query Loop on multiple pages or just one specific page?
To assess the issue, can you also share a screenshot/s of your setup for the Element and the Query Loop inside it? Uploading Screenshots: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-premium-support-forum/#uploading-screenshots

I recreated the query loop in a page (using the query loop block as you suggest ) This is for one particular category (photos) and I wil create another different one (for videos). They will not appear more than once each is an entry point for one category of posts.
When I published the Query Loop the result is the second very odd display you see in the screenshot. I must be doing something wrong but I cannot work out what it is! I can adjust things like the spacing and margins and, frustratingly, the buttons do not come out level either.

The two links you provided are the same. Can you re-share the second link again?

Thank you, Marjorie!
To clarify, are the issue with the Image and the excerpt not appearing?
Can you provide admin login credentials? I’ll take a closer look at your structure and setup.

I set up th Query Loop (I thought) to add all the recent posts in one category to a page. At the moment I get one post on the page. The QL information is clear enough so I am frustrated I can’t get it right.I just realised that unless I add something else my page culd me a hunded miles long!!
Can you confirm the email address I need to use to add an admin for you to the site?

Sorry, I’m not getting a full grasp of the issue.
Here’s a simple example of me setting up a Query Loop in a Page to display 3 posts of a specific category: https://share.getcloudapp.com/KounwoRZ
You can use support@generatepress.com as the email.

OK I will add the details for you as an Admin and then check the link to the post you give. Thank you.
Email now sent!

I see. You set it to “Inherit query from template”.
Can you toggle off that? This option is ideal if you’re altering the main loop of an Archive Page. Reference: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-loop-template/
See: https://share.getcloudapp.com/xQuOArnx/annotate
If it’s on a static Page, you’ll need to disable that setting and add parameters as I’ve shown in the screen recording I provided.

Hello Fernando,
OK I have toggled off the inherit query template which has created another issue that I can’t understand. BTW Thanks for the easy to follow links they were a helpful read but…
When I publish the Element it works fine for the page, however, it also does the same odd thing at the top of a page which I click one of the links on my front page. [I hve three popular posts for people to visit from the front page).
My original intention was to collate all of the posts in a category on a page for ease of sharing. One for Photography and (if i am able to sort this out) One for Video posts. I did not anticipate that this wuld make clikcing on front page links almost impossible.
I did not anticipate the query loop creating the issue you will see in Screenshots three and four. For now I have left the Qery Loop in draft.
Can you see where I might be going wrong?

Sorry, I’m a bit confused as well.
Can you provide a brief explanation of what you’re trying to make?
Also, where did you use the GB Query Loop Block? I can’t seem to locate it. Can you provide the specific link to the page?

I have been away, sorry for the delay in responding.
I want to make three pages for the three parts of my site, Photo, Video, Cat Life. I assumed a query loop would gather all of the posts together for this but it appears I am causing a lot of problems using the QL and perhaps the simple block for posts would do instead?
