    Hi Marjorie,

Welcome back and Happy New Year!

    Let’s discuss the 3 pages.

    1. Photo:

Will this be a page filled with Images? Or, will it be filled with Posts that have the category or tag “image”?

    2. Video:

Will this be a page filled with Videos – eg. YouTube videos? Or, will it be filled with Posts that have the category or tag “video”?

    3: Cat Life:

Would this be a page filled with Posts related to Cat Life?

    ——

We’ll recommend what is best to do for each page afterward.

    Hi Fernando,

You are not giving up on me eh? OK here goes.

My three pages will each focus on a WordPress Category on the blog. The content will be drawn from the three Categories I have created; Beginner Photo Skills, Cat Reviews and News, Smartphone Movie Posts.

If each category has its own page I can share the content more easily. Any videos etc., are contained within posts, not displayed on their own.

    Does this help?

    Marjorie

Definitely not giving up! We’re here to help. 🙂

    Yes, it helps.

WordPress-wise, there should already be a default archive page for these categories.

If you go to Posts > Categories in your admin dashboard, you can visit each Category Page.

Would those default archive pages work?

I guess that I am better using the Genesis Blocks Post and Page Grid and not worry about using the Query Loop?

    Well, it is preferential.

You can opt to use the default archive pages and style them through a Block Element – Content Template: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-content-template/

Through this, you wouldn’t need a Query Loop Block.

Alternatively, if you wish to use a Query Loop Block, you can use it in conjunction with a Block Element – Loop Template: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-loop-template/

    Either should work.

You could also create new static pages for each “category” and add posts through a GB Query Loop Block.

Personally, for archive pages, I prefer using a Content Template. I find it simplest and easiest to implement.

OK I feel I could make progress using the Block Element/Content-Pages idea. Let me try that.
