Hello,
For tracking purposes, we need to create meta tags for our post categories. So in other words, if a post is in the category “example category”, its category meta tag should be “example category”.
Is there some code snippet we could add to output this? I know there’s a meta tag plugin, but we’d prefer to add as little code as we can.

I’m not aware of a simple solution unfortunately. I would recommend checking with WP’s support team as this wouldn’t be a theme-specific request.

The plugin might be your best bet. I’m not sure but it could be a very simple plugin.
Keep in mind that code is code – doesn’t matter if it’s added as a snippet or plugin, it’s still code.The best way to tell is to run your site through speed test before and after implementing the plugin to see if there is actually a noticeable difference in the performance.
