Xander
Hi!
I have a peculiar issue on my site. When I go from the Customizer to Content -> Display post date, author etc, I can only show the Author.
Even when I enable the Post Date, it doesn’t show it anywhere:

I tried anything to include the Post Date and try to set a last modified date, but for some reason the date never shows up on any of my posts.
Is there a specific code I need to include? The Customizer isn’t working it seems.

Hi Xander,
Are you using a theme from the Site Library?
If so, kindly let us know what it is.

Hi Fernando,
No specific theme – I’m using the base GeneratePress with Thrive Architect as an add-on.
Here’s an example page where the issue occurs: https://www.ultimategamechair.com/how-to-turn-a-laptop-into-a-gaming-laptop/Thanks!

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
can you disable all other plugins temporarily to check for plugin conflicts ?
July 11, 2022 at 4:18 am #2279231Xander
Hi David,
I did that, and there was no change. When I turned the plugins back on, now I can’t even toggle the Post Author on/off (no changes get recorded whatsoever). The whole Display menu in the Customizer doesn’t apply any changes.
Cheers,

StaffCustomer SupportDo you have any custom functions added to the site ?
July 11, 2022 at 4:49 am #2279274Xander
As far as I know, no.
I got the site from its previous owner recently, but I just checked the functions.php and I don’t see anybody anything out of the ordinary.July 11, 2022 at 9:46 am #2279684Ying
StaffCustomer SupportCan you go to appearance > themes, and check if you are using a GP child theme?
July 11, 2022 at 11:24 am #2279773Xander
Hey, Ying!
Yes, I’m using a child theme indeed as I don’t want to mess something with my main GP theme.
July 11, 2022 at 11:55 am #2279790Ying
StaffCustomer SupportIf you are using a child theme, it’s likely some custom function has been added to the child theme.
If you want to debug and fix the issue, this is a must-step, unfortunately.

Hey Ying,
No problem, I switched to the main theme. However, the issue doesn’t get resolved either.
Here’s a screenshot:

StaffCustomer SupportThe setting in your screenshot seems for the blog/archive, not for the single post.
Can you make sure you are editing the settings for single post?
July 11, 2022 at 12:24 pm #2279812Xander
Apologies, I didn’t see I screenshotted the blog.
Here’s the single post – the situation is the same

StaffCustomer SupportNo worries!
That’s very strange, any chance you can provide admin login details to your site so we can take a look at the backend?
Please keep the parent theme activated and all other plugins deactivated.
Let me know 🙂
