How do I get the sub category posts to show only in the sub category not both? Thank you . Jan September 15, 2016 at 10:49 am #226696 TomLead Developer Lead Developer Hi there, I’m not too sure what you mean? Where are the categories displayed? In your widgets? September 15, 2016 at 11:05 am #226706 Janet Davis I’m using my categories in my menu bar. So if the hierarchy is Food sub cat – Fruit sub cat Banana If I put a post in banana, it also shows up in sub cat fruit and main cat Food, when I just want the post to be in banana. Does this make sense? September 15, 2016 at 12:31 pm #226727 TomLead Developer Lead Developer You can control exactly what you do and don’t want in your menu in “Appearance > Menus”: https://generatepress.com/knowledgebase/using-menus/ Let me know if that helps or not π September 15, 2016 at 1:01 pm #226734 Janet Davis HI Tom, I have the menu set up as the secondary menu. The issue is the content of the posts where they are showing. Here is the top level of this category https://everydayhomesteading.com/test/food-and-products/ In the second column second row is the post – Mint Plant- Grow it β Eat it β Use it In the sub category https://everydayhomesteading.com/test/food-and-products/gardening/ The same post – Mint Plant- Grow it β Eat it β Use it is also there. How do I get the post only to be in the sub category not in the both categories? Jan September 15, 2016 at 10:43 pm #226801 TomLead Developer Lead Developer Hi Jan, The only reason that would happen is if the post was added to both categories. Have you checked that yet? September 16, 2016 at 7:03 am #226927 Janet Davis Tom, I’ve doubled check, and I only have one category – the sub category checked on all them, yet it is site wide. Any ideas? So it’s set to a sub-category of the other category it’s displaying on? Not sure how WordPress handles it, but maybe it will show on the parent category page if it’s set to the sub-category? Worth playing with. Author Posts Viewing 9 posts - 1 through 9 (of 9 total) You must be logged in to reply to this topic. Log In Username: Password: Keep me signed in Log In
