Hi there,
I’m hoping for some help with converting an existing site to GP. I’ve been through the forum and I can’t work it out.
The original site is here – using the7 theme: https://www.boxroom.se/reklamfilmer/
The new GP site is here: https://boxroomnew.wpengine.com/category/reklamfilm/
I have created a draft Element for the Reklamfilm category but that’s where I got stuck. I’m not sure what choosing Video as the post format actually does, I did try to add the video embed in the post and that then showed on the Archive page as the excerpt.
Basically the posts are just the title and the video so there is no need to click through to the actual single post to view the video.
Ideal scenario would be
– Using the existing featured images
– Clicking on the image plays the video on the archive page without opening the single post
– A “play” icon on top of the image to show you can click and playIn the Element I have the background image as dynamic from the featured image and then a button on top of it, but then I think I need to add ACF or a plugin like that to create the field for the video URL/embed?
I’d love some guidance on the best way to go about this.
Thank you!

To clarify, you basically want your reklamfilmer category archive page to display the videos of each post, and these post only have one video in the content?
If so, you can achieve this through a Content Template. You just need to have a Dynamic Content Block set to show the Post content, and the Display Rule set to display to your preferred archive page.
Example: https://share.getcloudapp.com/mXuYX1LP
With regards to your inquiry about Post Formats, here is an article by WordPress regarding this: https://wordpress.org/support/article/post-formats/#supported-formats
Hope this helps! Feel free to reach out if further assistance is needed. 🙂

Thank you for your reply.
Would I be able to add the title of the post UNDERNEATH the video?
As you can see in the original http://www.boxroom.se/reklamfilmer/ it has a featured image with a play icon on top, when you click it a popup with the YouTube video shows. This would be the ideal setup but I’m ok with just having the YouTube video there as per your example. BUT I also need the title of the post UNDERNEATH the video like in the original link above.
I can’t see an option for post title in the Dynamic Content options?
Thank you so much for your help!

if you add a GenerateBlocks Headline Block in the Element, you can then select its Dynamic Data option of the Post Title
