hey guys , i have a problem with my sidebars width. in a category page the spacing is good, but the posts in the page are buggered up when i open them. i have tried padding and that hasnt worked. but part of what i did do by creating a content/sidebar option did give me the sidebar i wanted, so that is good but like i said, for each individual post page i can’t get the sidebar over far enough or wide enough. it looks lousy. plz help if you can , i appreciate it.

hey id love to leave the links in the private area Leo but when i clk on that link, i go to the page but my cursor turns into a magnifying glass and all it will do is increase or decrease the size of the document. How can i enter my links? i want to send one that is how i want the pages to display, and the other will be the page i want to adjust.

StaffCustomer SupportHi Doug,

Do you mean the link Leo provided in his last reply? That’s just a documentation with a screenshot to show you where the private info field is.
You can find it at the bottom of each reply.

StaffCustomer SupportThe sidebar width in both the post and page are set to 30% of the container width , the page’container width is set to 1750px, but the post’s container width is set to 800px using a layout element.
In order to make both sidebars the same width, we’ll need to have the same container width for post as well.
You can find the layout element which assigned to posts at appearance > elements, if you disable this element, it should work.
Let me know 🙂

thx for the idea, Ying. I went into the appearance/elements and found 8 entries.
i tried turning 3 to default one by one, but still no luck
i tried all 3 together, no luck.
any suggestions?
i kind of know what is behind this formatting stuff, but not that much. GP is pretty new to me
thx

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
can you share a screenshot of the Elements admin so we can see the list of elements you have. ?

hi
yes i tried that to support my previous remark, but this reply area won’t accept my pasting the screenshotMarch 13, 2022 at 10:32 am #2153162David
StaffCustomer SupportYou have to simply provide the URL to the screenshot. For example upload the screenshot your media library and provide the URL to that. Or you can do the same with any image on a share drive or image sharing service

StaffCustomer SupportI went in to your backend, most of the layout elements are not doing anything:
https://www.screencast.com/t/hoxvjmYLYou can remove the ones marked with red.
The one that’s working on posts is the one marked with orange, it sets the content container width to 800px, you can disable this element so the posts will use the content container set in customizer > layout > container.
Let me know 🙂

ok Y, so i have the form opened for the orange highlighted element (below); it is already at ‘default’, so i presume the disable is via the link above the box, but when i clik it i get header, footer, etc options. shouldn’t it have a sidebar option if i want to disable the sidebar element?
