StaffCustomer SupportYou can simply delete them (orange and red ones), or set their status to draft instead of published.

Hi Douglas,
Y, i don’t see a draft option, only publish. and, is this a blog post problem or a sidebar problem?
To turn an Element into draft, you’ll need to select Edit as such: https://share.getcloudapp.com/eDu5Yj4N
Then, select draft: https://share.getcloudapp.com/9ZumPxZP
and hey Y, how come the front page looks ok, the category page looks ok ,but the actual posts themselves are screwed up? how do i replicate the layout of the category page?
As mentioned by Ying, the Element “Blog Posts Width” is setting the content width of Posts to
800px. This in turn creates the discrepancy in Layouts between the Pages and Posts. You can try setting the “Blog Posts Width” Element to draft or replicate the Content settings for you Front Page/Pages: https://share.getcloudapp.com/eDu5YjGx
Hope this clarifies. 🙂

sorry Fernando, i am totally screwed. i ahve tried all of these boxes etc and i have a front page that looks like shit and posts that are weirder than f&uck.
do u have any tutorial video that i could work along with? these suggestions , and now from 3 of your guys who know a lot about it, aren’t workign for me.
forget the tutorials. i found one from leo and it didn’t answer my specific issue.
now my site is totally f*ucked up and i am spinning my wheels and this is costing me money. i tried generatepress pro because i wanted a fast website. nothing too fast happening for me here.
there has to be some sort of simple answer to this ; do u guys have live chat maybe? that would sure help.

It’s okay Douglas. Sorry, we don’t have a live chat support system, however, we’ll try our best to provide support here.
The discrepancy between the pages you have and your posts is coming from this setting: https://share.getcloudapp.com/YEurKO9Y
If you try to remove it as such, they should both extend to full width: https://share.getcloudapp.com/7KuQvEKv
We can try to go through the issues one by one. Do you want a Layout that extends full width or something that has a specific width/padding?
Here is an article you may refer to with regards to Layout Overviews: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/layout-element-overview/

Lastly, with regards to the speed of your website, upon testing, I found that the biggest contributor to the loading time of your website are the images, specifically this one: https://bebestu.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/mountain-top-lady-1.png

Hi F
thx for your patience.
yes, i will clarify what i want the different pages to look likeall individual posts : for instance, https://bebestu.com/category/physical-wellness/
those posts i want to be content / sidebar ; content about 2/3 of the page, sidebar the remainder. I made some banners (the green ones ) to fit nicely in the text part of the post. If you can make this happen that would be awesome. My home page. the hero image went all the way across the page initially. I’d like that back. Under it , the layout showing the last 3 posts and the About us to be the same as the post pages; 2/3 text etc, 1/3 banners. i want all of the home page and posts to keep similar layout.
Each cateory page (from the top menu on home page: here is an example: ) https://bebestu.com/category/emotional-wellness/
they should have the same 2/3 – 1/3 setup. They should show a two column grid of posts that the visitor can choose from. Again i had this set up properly, now it shows an entire post and i don’t know why.So … that is what i want this mess to look like Ferando. It was a good idea to get me to describe this to you. Now that u know what i want, u can zero in on what i need to do to make the entire site look the way I want.
Thx again

StaffCustomer SupportFor all individual posts to go full width, go to appearance > elements, select the Blog posts width, remove the 800px, hit publish:
https://www.screencast.com/t/eIYWkCZeFor home page, are you referring this to the hero image which went all the way across the page initially?
https://www.screencast.com/t/JJCh2zz7AIIf so, it’s not possible, as it’s added in the content, when there’s a sidebar presented, the image can’t go full width.
You can add a block element – page hero for it. Here’s the documentation and tutorial video:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-page-hero/For blog/archive page, go to customizer > layout > blog, select excerpt instead of full width:

hi y
like i said earlier today, i don’t want blog posts to go full width. i want them like 2/3 to 1/3 content to sidebar. how to do that?the hero image, from the home page, the lady with her arms overhead .. yes, i want that full page. it was before i started mucking about with things.
what does this mean ? For blog/archive page, go to customizer > layout > blog, select excerpt instead of full width:

StaffCustomer Supporti don’t want blog posts to go full width. i want them like 2/3 to 1/3 content to sidebar. how to do that?
Eh… 2/3 + 1/3 = 1 =100%, that’s how it looks to me when you say 2/3 content and 1/3 sidebar, and when I checked, your example link https://bebestu.com/category/physical-wellness/ is full width.
If you don’t want full width for your post, then delete the
Blog posts widthlayout element.
https://www.screencast.com/t/1xHa4fgB0PdLthe hero image, from the home page, the lady with her arms overhead .. yes, i want that full page. it was before i started mucking about with things.
You had NO sidebar before on your homepage, remember?
Now with sidebar, it’s NOT possible to make it full width. You’ll need to create a block element – page hero for it. I’ve attached the documentation and tutorial video in my last reply.
what does this mean ? For blog/archive page, go to customizer > layout > blog, select excerpt instead of full width:
This is what you need to do to make your posts in 2 columns and not show full content!

hi Y
well i played around a bit and got the pages / posts to where i want them. thx for that.however, like i said i did have a hero image on the home page and then screwed it up trying different things. so i am following that vid u linked; i can create the element, but then my page looks nothing like the one in the vid. how old is that vid? must be out of date because this is all i get with mine:
https://bebestu.com/wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=gp_elements&element_type=blockno chance that i see anywhere to choose hero and then go on from there. check this out plz , ok?
March 14, 2022 at 4:13 pm #2154643Ying
StaffCustomer SupportThe video is up to date, and you are using Classic editor which doesn’t work with block element, you’ll need to disable it.
Since the original question has been answered and resolved, can you open a new topic for the page hero?
Thanks!

hi ; i don’t really need the new block demo. i buggered up my image all on my own w the classic editor and whatever controls come w the customeizer and elements i guess. let’s keep this contained, as it is still an issue iwth the sidebar on the homepage.
any ideas how i can get rid of the sidebar so i have a main image across the page, and the sidebar kicks in below? that is how it was before i started mucking around w it all.March 15, 2022 at 12:28 pm #2155835Douglas
ok i;ll start a hero ticket. i tried some edits and got hell in return lol
March 15, 2022 at 3:50 pm #2155978Ying
StaffCustomer SupportClassic editor is not supported by WordPress anymore, so better start with blocks 🙂
We’ll be answering your other ticket soon if it’s not been answered yet!
