Hello, I am having this problem:

403 Forbidden. Your server is not able to communicate with generatepress.com in order to activate your license key.

I see that many people have this problem, I’m at OVH and I don’t know what to do, I don’t know anything about web hosting.

I am in France and speak English very badly (I use a translator) do you have no other verification solution? I am really unhappy with this problem and I see that many people who buy your products have the same difficulties.

    Can you help me ?

    Hi there,

We will need the gateway IP from OVH, similar to this user: https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/cannot-activate-license-key-2/page/2/#post-2097058

They pointed here which may help: https://docs.ovh.com/fr/hosting/liste-des-adresses-ip-des-clusters-et-hebergements-web/#en-pratique

If you’re not sure, you can contact your server hosting with the above information and they should be able to confirm the IP.

    Let us know 🙂

    Hi there,

I’ve notified our server of this. That IP is blocked on our end, but they’re unable to unblock it without some more information.

Our server has been hit from that IP 18,000 times in the past 24 hours, which is why it’s been blocked.

Understandably, they’re hesitant to unblock it at this time until they know more about why that many requests have been sent our way.

Are you able to contact your hosting support and notify them of this? You can simply point them to this topic.

Let me know, and sorry for the inconvenience!

Scratch that, they were able to remove the IP block. It should work fine now.

I would still be interested to hear why that server has hit our server 18k+ times in 24 hours if they have an answer.

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

we implemented another API method – see this document here that explains how to use it:

Same issue here and API method doesn’t work.

    I paid for Premium and I can’t use it since 1 month…

sorry to hear you’re having troubles.

Have you tried the other debugging methods?

Hi, I have the same problem with one of my client, OVH hosting. The issue is that OVH is arguably the biggest webhost in France.

    Hi Noisy,

Have you tried the steps introduced in this documentation?

    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/403-forbidden-when-activating-license-key/

Hi Ying, I just did and it works!

    1. I installed the Code Snippets plugin (free)
    2. Created a new php snippet and pasted the Secondary API php code and set it to work only in the admin zone
    3. Activated it, and was able to paste my key and have the confirmation that the website now receives premium updates

Thanks for reminding me to post the outcome.
