[Support request] Themes

Hi,

I just signed up with WP premium. Prior to this I’ve been using the ‘Magazine Edge’ theme. Do I edit using WP or Magazine Edge? Ie, can I edit using WP as I just purchased the premium?

Did you mean GP Premium? If you actually meant WP Premium, I’m afraid that’s not within the scope of our support.

Perhaps you mistook our support forum for WP Premium’s support. WP Premium is a completely different product from GP Premium. GP Premium is a plugin that uses the GeneratePress theme to work.

No problem.

By default, to use GP Premium plugin, you must install and activate GeneratePress theme.

This means you won’t be needing the Magazine Edge theme.

You can work through your site using WordPress’ Gutenberg editor or Elementor or Beaver Builder depending on what you picked on GP Premium’s Site Library.

When you said that I won’t be needing the Magazine Edge theme, does that mean that I have to change the theme, as you suggested to a theme in the GP Site library?

You have to change the theme to GeneratePress theme. Site Library is a list of styling for sites that looks like a theme in itself but they’re all technically under the GeneratePress theme.:)

I’m afraid you can’t use Magazine Edge theme if you intend to use GP Premium.

You’ll see a “GP Premium requires GeneratePress to be your active theme.” error if you use other themes.

I’m a newbie, so there’s a steep learning curve for me.

These are server settings you have to set to fix this error.

If you don’t know how to set these things. You may have to ask your hosting company for assistance in setting these up.

did you resolve the issue as i can only see the Prime Home Page ?

Have you added any other content to the site or made any changes?
If you haven’t then you should be able to import a new site and the site library will detect the old site and inform you it will remove it first….

if that option doesn’t appear and there is nothing you’re bothered about losing then its best to Reset the site with this Plugin:

Then install an new site.
