Hello, I am new using GeneratePress + Elementor Page Builder.
I am used to using themes that allow me to modify absolutely everything with Elementor.
The theme is as follows:
I have installed GP Premium and Elementor Pro and chosen the Zeal template from the library. At the time of modifying it, I don’t know how to modify the heaader and the footer, since I agree to edit the page with Elementor and the “Edit Header” or “Edit Footer” option that I am used to with the “Header plugin is not shown , footer and block templates “(I have it installed).
I find it a bit confusing to edit these parts, could you explain from where should I modify them?
Regards, and thank you very much,

the hero section is created using a Header Element:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/header-element-overview/
the footer is using the Themes Footer Widgets in Customizer > Widgets > Footer.
June 4, 2020 at 5:36 am #1313945ameigaOK, I know. But can I edit a hero section in Elementor or using another visual edition?
June 4, 2020 at 5:50 am #1313961DavidStaffCustomer SupportBest thing for you is to Delete the GP Header Element and then create your own Hero section in Elementor.

June 4, 2020 at 8:52 am #1314420ameigaSorry David! I thought I had solved the problem. I have managed to modify the header with Elementor as I wanted but with the footer I can’t get it. Do you know how to remove the Generatepress footer so that the Elementor option appears the same as in the Header?
June 4, 2020 at 2:09 pm #1314750LeoStaffCustomer SupportYou can create a layout element to remove the default footer:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/layout-element-overview/#disable-elementJune 5, 2020 at 12:44 am #1315097ameigaSo impressive the easy way to create a layout in Generatepress but it doesn’t work. I created the layout without footer but the option “edit footer” in Elementor continues not to show. I don’t understand why doing the same thing appears the “edit Header” option but not the “edit footer”
Thank you, Leo and sorry for my english!
June 5, 2020 at 5:25 am #1315388DavidStaffCustomer SupportHi there,
i believe that themes Footer must be visible on your site for you to be able to edit it in Elementor. Can you test it with the Theme footer in view?
June 5, 2020 at 6:33 am #1315465ameigaYes, I tried. The thing is:
– Header:
I can’t use “edit Header” option when editing a page in Elementor with GP Header element enabled.
Now, with GP Header element deleted, I cant use it as I want.– Footer:
I can’t use “edit footer” option when editing a page in Elementor with the layout that use the GP footer. Now, I am using a new layout that have disabled the footer option so the footer is not showed but the option “edit footer” doesn’t appear.
I can do what I need in this project using GP Footer but my objective is to use GP Premium + Elementor to almost all my projects and I want to to know how to do the most things I could using Elementor because for me is the most efficient way.
Thank you so much for all your support and sorry again for my english,
JoseJune 5, 2020 at 8:41 am #1315783DavidStaffCustomer SupportWhen the Edit Footer or Edit Header options are displayed – what happens when you click them ?
June 8, 2020 at 4:59 am #1318976ameigaWhen I click on “Edit Header” I can customize header with Elementor in a new window as I usually do.
The “edit footer” isn’t displayed son I can’t click.
The “edit header” option wasn’t displayed until I create the layout without Generatepress Header.
June 8, 2020 at 7:12 am #1319149DavidStaffCustomer SupportElementor requires the Themes Header and Footer to be visible. Only then can you use the Elementor Edit Header or Edit Footer feature.
Is the GP Footer visible ?
June 9, 2020 at 12:52 am #1320211ameigaGP footer is visible but edit footer option on Elementor is not displayed.
GP header is not visible, edit header option is displayed and I am already using the Header edited with Elementor and works perfectly.
When I had GP header activated, “edit header” option on Elementor was not displayed too but if I do same thing in footer doesn’t work. So: edit footer option is not displayed with our whithout GP footer activated.
