Carsten
Hi there, I have been watching the Header Element video, but I’m still not sure on how it interact with the settings in the customizer.
I have expected it to replace the customization settings, but apperantly the options in the header are still dependent on the settings in the customizer?
What I want to achieve is a header with a navigation menu, a logo centered in the middle, and a back button.
Centering the logo has seamed to be more difficult than expected. Can I achieve this if i choose Page Hero to build up the header?I also want my header logo to link to another page than the frontpage, how can I do that?
Regards

One more question to the header/nav settings, why does not any of the my attempts to have my navigation left in the header apply?, e.g. if I select navigation left, in presets, the navigation stays centered, but my my logo align rigth… ?

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
I think you are confused about the global header vs header element.
Let’s take this example here:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/page-hero-examples/#example-1The white part is the global header which is controlled in the customizer. The blue part is the page hero/header element.
Where would you like to place the navigation if the logo is centered?
Do you have a quick example to help me visualize the desired design?
Please try to keep one question per topic – we don’t mind you opening as many topics as you want, just easier for us to keep track of the issues this way.
Thanks!

Hi Leo, here’s two screenshots of what I had in mind:
Is this possible to achieve, an extra line of nav items, where I can add three or four of the most important navigation links?
Thanks in advance

StaffCustomer SupportThat’s for desktop and mobile?
How are you adding the Back functionality?

Can you open a separate topic for this?
Thanks 🙂

The back button is added by a widget

The back button is added by a widget
by a shortcode in an inside_mobile_header hook element

StaffCustomer SupportSo we are just talking about the mobile header layout here right?
I don’t see the back button currently.
Can you add it in and I’ll provide some CSS?

The mobile header is activated, can it be because the frontpage has been excluded?
Would a sign in help, to see what is going on?

StaffCustomer SupportDo you actually want to use the mobile header on the desktop view?
Looks like you changed the breakpoint to do so.

Yes, thats intentional. BuddyPress has a lot of nav tabs and sub nav tabs, so having another row of navigation tabs or buttons just confuses users.
So my plan was to add the less used links to the mobile header menu both on mobile and desktop, and having the option for adding a few important links in a secundary navigation menu, also on desktop, like this

StaffCustomer SupportThat case I would keep mobile and desktop separated.
That desktop header shouldn’t be too difficult to achieve.
Can you change the breakpoint back for now?
April 3, 2020 at 9:32 am #1225250Carsten
Okay, so now the Mobile Menu Breakpoint has been changed to 768, should the Mobile Header be on or off?
Now the desktop is totally messed up.

Sorry, nothing wrong with the desktop header, just many nav menu items, which is why I prefer the mobile menu, also on desktop, and if I can have three featured buttons in a second navigation row would be perfect.

StaffCustomer SupportCan you provide the username and password to login again?
Somehow lost it in the original topic or am I dreaming?
Thanks 🙂
