I sent a ticket to Elementor on this and they replied with what the problem is.
Here’s a screencast of the issue I’m facing http://somup.com/cq620nePEOHere’s Elementor’s response
https://www.loom.com/share/53b73b1a2c0a488a886357c498f37323Can you help me out here?
ThanksOctober 14, 2019 at 5:17 pm #1034664LeoStaffCustomer SupportHi there,
So you are trying to remove the background image?
Have you tried removing it in Customizer > Background Image > Body?
Let me know 🙂
October 15, 2019 at 3:02 am #1034987DougNo…I don’t want to remove the background image…
I want the Elementor sections to not stretch across the full screen. Did you watch the video that Elementor made? It shows the theme adding 100% width to one of the Elements causing the section to stretch across the screen. We don’t want that.
October 15, 2019 at 3:03 am #1034988DougAlso, so you know…I did not get a notification that you responded. Yes, I have subscribed to the thread.
October 15, 2019 at 8:19 am #1035334LeoStaffCustomer SupportThat CSS is there because you’ve activated the full-width page builder container here:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/page-builder-container/Looks like you’ve switched theme now 🙂
October 15, 2019 at 8:57 am #1035382DougNo I didn’t change my theme…someone else did and I think it was Crocoblock. Also, half the plugins were disabled…I’m kinda pissed now because they don’t reply as they should.
I’ve reactivated GP and the GPPlugin.
The Elementor theme builder pages do not have that setting you are referring to.
On the home page it fixed the stretch issue but the background still isn’t coming through.October 15, 2019 at 9:12 am #1035399LeoStaffCustomer SupportThat would be a metabox setting within GeneratePress. It should show in the edit page screen.
The background image isn’t showing through on the home page because Elementor is overwriting GP’s setting:
https://www.screencast.com/t/2zmC6CeNtOctober 15, 2019 at 9:53 am #1035457DougGot it…That was it. Thank you.
October 15, 2019 at 9:57 am #1035461LeoStaffCustomer SupportNo problem 🙂
October 15, 2019 at 10:00 am #1035462DougBut…
It still doesn’t solve the problem with the 100% being applied to the Elementor theme templates. The setting you referred to doesn’t exist on template pages.
Regular template pages ‘respect’ the page width… Theme builder templates do not.
October 15, 2019 at 10:01 am #1035465DougWhat was fixed was the frontpage background. I found a setting I had changed for that one.
October 15, 2019 at 10:11 am #1035475LeoStaffCustomer SupportCan you link me to a page that’s still having the issue?
October 15, 2019 at 10:21 am #1035483DougCategories and product pages that using an Elementor theme builder template…the blog included.

https://solids-n-stripes.com/product/cue-tips/on-cyborg-slow-pool-cue-tip-single/
https://solids-n-stripes.com/blog/The category is using the Elementor theme builder and the products are not…
But, and I just saw it, in some of these products the image being show is zoomed in and when hover it backs out and shows the proper image size. This is an issue also, not sure if it’s a GP issue or a WooC issue. It seems to be only some of the products..not all of them and all the images were imported the same way.
The first row of this category has the image issue on the product pages.
https://solids-n-stripes.com/product-category/extensions/October 15, 2019 at 10:26 am #1035489LeoStaffCustomer SupportDo you have a layout element created that’s using this option?
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/layout-element-overview/#content-1That’s the only other way the theme would add the full-width container CSS.
