I’m trying to make a section full width while keeping the content boxed. So far I have not succeeded. In Gutenberg I drop a Cover block, set it to full width and type some text in the paragraph block that’s inside. In the editor looks good, but when I preview it everything looks full width, both the cover block and its contents. However, if I switch to Twenty Nineteen, the page looks good. I’m working locally with GP 2.3.2 only (no Premium), Gutenberg 6.5.0 (plugin). Also have CoBlocks installed, but made no difference if activated.

Any idea how to fix this?

Thank you very much in advance.

could you share a screenshot of the front end?

Yes, of course. I’m attaching links for captures using 2019 and using GP.

    Hi there,

It’s hard to tell without seeing the live page, but it’s likely that 2019 is just doing full-width sections differently.

What if you used the Group block with a background image, and then set the inner container to your container width using CSS?

We’re building our own blocks that will make this sort of thing super easy πŸ™‚

    Tom,

    Thanks for the info.

I’m going to set it up on a domain I’m not using, I’ll put a link later today so you can check.

In the meantime I will try other ways, including what you suggest.

As for the blocks, when can we expect to play with them? πŸ˜€
