    Hello

Last WP 5,6 version, last theme: 3.0.2, last GP Premium: 1.12.3 installed.

In some pages, I realize that some YouTube videos are no longer embedded/visible correctly (The URLs are shown instead)
See for exemple what happens here : testpage

I have deactivated all the plugins (and all plugin but GP), this doesn’t solve the issue.

When I am in edit mode, I see the videos correct embedded.

If I activate “Twenty Twenty-One” theme it works. If I reactivate GP, it doesn’t.

Could you give your kind support?
    Thank you
    Eric

    Hi there,

can you clear any page caches on your server, and the disable autoptimize so i can take a closer look?

Also are you using a Child Theme or any custom functions in GP Hooks ?

    Hello David,
I have deactivated “Autoptimize”. I use no other cache plugin.
Is there any internal WP cache that I should clear? (how should I proceed?)
I have no access to the server (shared server). When I use another them, there is no problem.

    I don’t use GP Hook (but GP>Elements).
I have tried deactivating all the GP Premium features and the problem still occurs.
Not using a Child theme neither.

I have provided you credentials in the private section if you would like to check.

    Thank you!

    Hi there,

I just tried to replicate your page and I’m not seeing any issues: https://www.screencast.com/t/eN3hdwfBo1

I see you have some Code Snippets on your site – does deactivating those change anything?

    Hi Tom,
Yes, I have tried deactivating all the plugins, with including the GP Premium plugin activated and also without having it activated… Same issue. If I try another theme, it works.
I see that on your case you have used a GP theme from scratch or so.
Mine has been based on Site Library : Catalyst (I don’t know if this is the reason)
    Thank you

(also, I had the issue with WP 5.5, I’ve migrated to 5.6 today with the hope it will solve it)

Is this already resolved? The issue doesn’t seem to occur anymore.

Here’s how it looks like on my end.

Not solved Elvin. See test page

I don’t understand the behavior. Sometimes, if I move the video out of a column it works.
I’ve hopefully managed to organize the page you show in such a way the problem doesn’t occurs. But see the test page given below…

Some servers (ex: Pantheon, SiteGround) have another cache on the server side of things outside side of WordPress. You may have to clear those as well if your server has one.

I’ve tried replicating the issue as well. And like Tom, I am also unable to replicate this issue.
    Demo page replication

I’m using GeneratePress 3.0.2 with Catalyst from the Site Library, GP Premium 1.12.3 and WordPress 5.6.

To check further: do you have any blocks that get any “Sorry, this content could not be embedded” error? if so, can you try removing it and saving again and see if if all the other

(Your duplicate runs fine! I am crying…
Have you check on my website with the credentials I provided to the support team?)

I have reset the CDN cache. Same.
    I use PHP 7.3.20.

Anyway, when I try with another theme it works, so this is not a server cache problème, isn’t it?

I have tried deactivating *all* plugins, even GP Premium. Same.
I have tried when I am logged or not… Same.
I have clear my browser cache.

With the test page (given above)…
    – When I am editing the page, it works, I see all embedded videos.
    – When I leave the editing mode (page saved), Same issue.
    – When I activate (or direct-preview) another Theme, it works fine.

The Youtube video is a “not referenced” video.

    Thanks

Can you try deleting the GeneratePress Theme.
    And then re-installing the theme.

Theme settings are saved in your database, but as a safety precaution can you:

    1. Make a Copy of any CSS you have in the Customizer > Additional CSS.
    2. Make a backup of the site.

Oh, I am a bit afraid to do it, but ok, I’ll try.
Maybe tomorrow, ortherwise it will be next week.
    I’ll give the outcome then.
Many thanks to the team for the kind support.

The same thing is happening to me since the update to Wp 5.6.

When I add a youtube video I can see it perfectly from the editor, but when I publish the entry sometimes the video comes out and other times only the youtube url comes out.

Also I have checked that some old entries with embedded youtube videos can’t be seen anymore and the url comes out. While others can be seen perfectly, something very strange.

The theme itself doesn’t/can’t handle this functionality – it’s 100% WordPress core.

What if you use a YouTube block instead of just adding the URL?

“What if you use a YouTube block instead of just adding the URL?”
The behavior is the same. I have tried.

I’ll reinstall the theme from scratch, most probably next week.
    Thanks to all the participants.
