PHILIP
The category in my breadcrumbs is not the category the post is saved in. Do you have any idea what I’ve done wrong please?
I used the shortcode video Leo made to add the breadcrumbs.I’ve had to turn breadcrumbs off, I couldn’t log out with them enabled.
Let me know if you’ve seen this problem before.Tanks.

Hi Philip,
This isn’t a theme issue. Can you try rewriting the Permalink structure in your website?
To do this, you’ll need to go to Settings > Permalinks > Save Changes.
See this for reference: https://share.getcloudapp.com/yAukAJEe
You only need to click “Save Changes” and this will automatically rebuild your Permalinks.
Kindly let us know if this resolves the issue! 🙂

Hello Fernando.
Re saving the permalinks didn’t help.
I use SiteGround who have a caching plugin, but they say it’s not a server issue.I rebuilt the site using the WordPress export feature several months ago. I think that may be part of the problem.
The permalinks now include custom sidebar links. Which is strange.February 3, 2022 at 3:49 am #2103685Fernando Customer Support
I did a quick search and found that using an older version of Yoast SEO produces this kind of issue.
Kindly see: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/15837
With this said, can you try checking if your Yoast SEO plugin is updated?
Moreover to further investigate if this issue is indeed caused by Yoast SEO, one suggestion I can make is to try another plugin for the breadcrumbs functionality. The other one suggested by Leo in the video is Rank Math SEO.
Hope this helps! 🙂

“Try another plugin for the breadcrumbs functionality.”
Thanks Fernando.
That worked.WP, GeneratePress theme, premium plugin, and all of my WordPress plugins were already up to date. I’d re-saved the permalinks and cleared the server cache, and browser cache. But the breadcrumb links were still showing the wrong categories.
However, a new breadcrumbs plugin solved the problem.
Thank you.February 3, 2022 at 7:05 pm #2104571Fernando Customer Support
