WPMU DEV Custom Sidebars and GeneratePress

I converted a client website over to GeneratePress and notice that for some reason it is not using WPMU DEV Custom Sidebars on pages. The previous theme did not have this issue.
Any ideas why?

GP doesn't add a plugin by default?

Sorry my fault I had my left and right sidebars not set correctly.
