We are aiming to release the beta version before the end of the month.
It's a big feature so we want to make sure it's absolutely done right :)

Happy to stumble across this news! Once it's released, will there be a way to migrate plugin settings to the baked-in version?

Unfortunately not. Migration would need to be done manually.
Ah, I've been off-grid for a bit, didn't realize there was an update available. Thanks! Been playing with it today and it's great.
