    problem

Hi, for the life of me i can’t seem to get rid of this left side bar.

If i add a widget to the left side bar, it goes away, but I don’t want there to be side bars right now on my home page and i would like to move the search field to the right side of the menu field if possible when on desktop and just have an icon for it in the Menu or next to the Menu on Mobile.

And remove the archieve or just put it on a footer.

is there anyway to do that?

    Hi there,

in Customizer > Layout > Sidebars you can set you layout for Posts, Pages and Blog. So you can change these if you want to remove them from across the site.

If you want to remove them from just the Home Page then use the Layout Element:

    I have tried that.

    New – Layout

    SideBar – Content (no sidebar)

Display Rule – FrontPage AND Page – Home (designated home page)

I even changed footer fields but nothing changed, and also tried flipping the left sidebar to the right, and still nothing

I saved, cleared cache from autoptimizer and refreshed and nothing changed.
“Elements” and “disable elements” are confirmed activated.

could it have something to do with using the WordSmith theme?

    Hi there,

The sidebar layout of Wordsmith’s home page is set using the Layout metabox as seen here:
    2020-04-14_1959

If you set it to default, then the customizer setting should apply:
    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/sidebar-layout/

Let me know if this helps 🙂

    that did the trick!

    Thank you!

Is there any guide for the themes specifically or I guess they are all the same with the features?

I would also like to change the Search function and add it to the menu if possible

Wordsmith doesn’t come with a documentation page unfortunately.

You can try the navigation search option:
    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/navigation-search/

Please open a new topic for this if you need further assistance.

    Thanks!
