[Resolved] "Wordsmith" demo content – Left Sidebar Widget content missing

Hi Guys,

I just want to start by saying that I am really happy I jumped in and got the premium version. Awesome stuff 🙂

Now, I have installed “Wordsmith” from the Site Library including the demo content. However, it seems that the left sidebar widget is not set up as the preview showing the “About me” and “Want to stay in touch” sections. Is this a change you have made to the demo content import 🙂 ? Or do I need to do something to make it happen?

This is an issue in the current version – some of the sites aren’t importing widgets.

We’ve fixed it in GPP 1.8.0: https://generatepress.com/gp-premium-1-8/

If you want to import it separately, right click and save this file to your computer: http://gpsites.co/files/wordsmith/widgets.wie

Then use this plugin to import it: https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/widget-importer-exporter/

How well-tested is the 1.8.0 version. Do you feel it is stable enough to use in production already 🙂 ?

Hi there,

we have some users who have adopted it immediately, brave ( or foolish lol ). If you want to test it i would advice not using a production site, maybe move one to staging and give it a go. But currently the feedback has been positive, we’re mainly making tweaks as opposed to repairing bugs.
