Wordpress Core File Modified Alert

Hello,
I recently got this wordfence alert: WordPress core file modified: wp-includes/feed-atom-comments.php
* WordPress core file modified: wp-includes/feed-rss2-comments.php
I was working with my hosting to fix the issue, which they said they reverted the file, but also recommended to reach out to my theme to see if you have any security update or theme updates that is pending for the domain.

No - GP wouldn't alter the WordPress core files like that :)

I am guessing someone was able to hack in and change those files -__- hopefully nothing bad came from it.
