Wordpress 6.2 is getting a lot of buzz. Any thoughts on how GP is in line or not with where WordPress is going. I am delivering a site to clients that includes training. There will be questions.

Hi David,

We’re working on a larger post about this.

In short, even though full site editing is now “out of beta”, we would not recommend using it on client sites/for agency purposes. It is still very early and there will still be issues using it on production sites.

While the idea is exciting, we don’t believe the new system will be for everybody. There will be a place for the new system, and there will be a place for the existing “traditional” system. As time goes on, we will implement aspects of the new system into GP where they make sense (and will be stable).

Thanks, Tom. That was pretty much what I thought. Just needed to be able to field potential questions from some volunteer admins I will be teaching how to use our GeneratePress Premium/GenerateBlocks site. I love the theme and the plugin and am excited to share it with them. Thanks to you and your team for all your great work and support!

No problem! We’re always experimenting and will jump at the chance to improve our existing systems. That being said, stability is far more important to us than rushing features, so we’re going to be cautious 🙂

I am also curious to read GP’s stance on this.

I just returned to GeneratePress again. Coming from FSE themes the Customizer approach seems a bit dated (perhaps because it is just the old way of doing it).

I am also interested in learning more about the future of GeneratePress and GenerateBlocks. I’ve recently started building some websites again and would like to concentrate on one system.

I like the simplicity of GP but I’m a bit confused by the new options in WordPress.

I was going to buy the GenerateBlocks Premium, but I don’t know if it will be obsolete or if some of the features that GenerateBlocks now offers will be included in the WordPress core.

I am looking forward to the post that can clear my doubts.
