hi how do we shrink the width of where the copy appears?

Hi,
If you want to change the width of the content container, you can do that through Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Layout > Content and set the container width to your preference.
If this doesn't work, it's most likely because you have a Layout Element that's applying the content width.
To check for the Layout element, you can view it on Dashboard > Appearance > Elements.
