Hello guys! In demo video from https://generateblocks.com/ the main column width of the Gutenberg Editor is much wider than default width (~780 px). Is this done through the plugin?
July 10, 2020 at 2:00 pm #1359524LeoStaffCustomer SupportHi there,
Not sure if I fully understand.
The container blocks have a width setting:
https://docs.generateblocks.com/article/container-overview/#standalone-blockDoes that help?
July 10, 2020 at 2:35 pm #1359547OmakHi Leo! You misunderstood. Compare the width of two Gutenberg editors.
1. My block editor: http://joxi.ru/a2XXM5pHDev4k2
2. Your block editor from demo video on GenerateBlocks website (click “Watch Video” button): http://joxi.ru/nAyK7WVijL6wqm
So much empty white space around in the default (narrow) main column of Block Editor. Words are moved to a new line. There is no such thing in demo video from GenerateBlocks website. I assume that in the demo video the author (Tom Usborne?) somehow expanded the main column width of the Block Editor.July 10, 2020 at 8:56 pm #1359688LeoStaffCustomer SupportIt should reflects the container width in the customizer:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/container-width/July 11, 2020 at 3:04 am #1359852OmakNo. The container width in the customizer has nothing to do with the width of Block Editor. Take a look screenshots below, compare the width of container in the frontend and the width of main column of Block Editor. These are not the same containers.
Screenshot 1 (Frontend. The Customizer affects the width): http://joxi.ru/KAgqQ1pIXBPoam
Screenshot 2 (Main column of Gutenberg Editor. The Customizer does not affect the width): http://joxi.ru/YmEMLXEtJK1gYm
In the demo video from GenerateBlocks the width of main column of Gutenberg Editor is much wider than default narrow width.
I assume that the author of video changed the width of the Block editor using this code. Is that so?July 11, 2020 at 9:58 am #1360212LeoStaffCustomer SupportNo. The container width in the customizer has nothing to do with the width of Block Editor.
That is incorrect – it actually does by default
Please check out the following screenshots:
