Widgetlink opening in new tab

I added a image sidebar widget on my site, and I want to open the link in a new tab. It's a link to my youtube channel.
I added this: <a href="channel link" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">my youtube channel</a></p> into the widget editor, but i doesn't let me accept it as a proper link for the image.
How to solve this?
