I’m trying to customize a blog feed and in doing so it is changing the archive pages as well.

I want the blog feed to display a nice big image with excerpt underneath it.

I want the archive pages to be gridded 5 across.

Right now if I change this it is affecting both the blog feed and the archive pages.

How do I control these separately? This feels like a bit of an oversight but maybe I’m missing something here.

    Thanks so much!

    Hi Dani,

In WordPress Blog page is an archive page. It was not easy to customize blog page from other archive pages.

But luckily your question just comes in a good timing, we’ll release GPP 2.0 Alpha tomorrow which has a brand new Block element feature that allows you to customize content template/post navigation and so on.

Here’s a demo video of the new feature:

You could play around with it once it’s released, and then we can offer help based on that 🙂
