Hi there,

I already added the background image for the page heor when building element block. THE SCREENSHOT IS https://prnt.sc/1qo8hn4

but the website is shown as only black background https://prnt.sc/1qo8jkm

Also, the page of Contact has the same thing with About us.

But, when I add the page hero for the product category archive, it can automatically add the background image for page hero.

If I want to change my favorite background image, how to solve this issue?

so what happens to my setting? pls guide

thanks
paul

Hi there,

Can you disable SG optimizer so I can take a closer look at the code and source?

Thanks!

hi leo,

i already disable SG optimizer and u can check the code and source. so pls let me know your comments.

i think i can not disable SG optimizer because it optimizes the website performance and speed.

so pls recommend other ways to solve my issue, thanks
paul

Hi there,

with SG Optimizer disabled, first make sure the Background Image URL is correct.
Then go to Dashboard > GenerateBlocks > Settings, and click the Regenerate CSS button.

Hi David,

I must always disable SG optimizer plugin?????

Yes, Background Image URL is correct.
Yes, go to Dashboard > GenerateBlocks > Settings, and click the Regenerate CSS button. pls check this screenshot https://prnt.sc/1qqmdy0

but still not show the background image, how to do that now?

paul

Optimization plugins like SG Optimizer, combine, minify, cache and change the order of the websites codes.
Whilst they're enabled, you may have some issues, such as not seeing updates you have made, as you may still see the cached code, until those caches are cleared.
They can sometimes cause a conflict, which we can eliminate as being an issue by asking for them to be disabled.
And for us to debug an issue we inspect the code on your site using the browser developers tools. Whilst a optimizers are enabled we cannot see the origin of the code, or assess whether the caching is a cause of the issue.

General rule for me is, when developing, debugging or making a major change to a site, i always work with Optimizer off. And only re-enable them after i have previewed the changes :)

For this issue, would you be willing to provide me with temporary admin access, we don't make changes to a users site, but if i can see the backend i can quickly assess what the problem is.

hi, david,

how to give you or add you as temporary admin access?

Create a Admin User in your Dashboard > Users, with name and password, and then share the Login URL, the name and password in the Private Information field in your next reply. Once we're done you can delete that user.

hi, David

pls, check the info in the private information field.

pls check the issue and guide me on how to solve it?

if my setting about plugins, and generate press and generateblock also still have other issues, also welcome to give me your valuable advice,

thanks in advance

OK.
Edit your Page Hero Block Element, when you select the parent Container Block you will see the Dynamic Data options are selected, and you have the Dynamic Background Image > Featured Image set. See here; the Contact Page Hero for example:

https://www.screencast.com/t/RlXFoxN40a3

But if i edit your Contact Page you have NO featured image selected.
Choices, in your Page Hero, either:

1. Disable the Featured image by setting the Dynamic Background Image to NONE.
OR
2. Select the Use Fallback Image, which in the absence of a Featured Image will use the Background Image you have set on the Container Block.

Now you have several Page Hero Block Elements set to Product Archives. As WordPress doesn't use Featured Images on Archives, for those Page Heros, you will need to go with option 1 above ie. set the Dynamic Background Image to NONE.

hi david,
For page hero block element, the biggest problem that you set Dynamic Background Image as NONE or Featured image with the fallback image.

U make the correct choice for them and will solve the issue of the background image of the page hero.

To be honest, i'm not using the function of the Dynamic option, do u have the detailed files or videos for me to learn them again?

thanks
paul

This doc provides a video showing how to use them:

https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-page-hero/

The example is different, but the same rules apply.
I think the way you're using the Page Heros, simply setting the Dynamic Background Image as NONE is the easiest solution.
Using a dynamic featured image background is a great option, if the Page Hero is being used on Many pages or posts, but not when its just applied to a single page or post.

hello david,

thanks for ur 5-star help and support
stay safe and have a nice day
paul
