[Resolved] Why are automatic updates disabled for GP Premium?

Is this a bug or are GP Premium updates disabled for me?

can you check with your host if it can reach https://generatepress.com using the wp_remote_post function

Got this response from our host:

I can confirm that cURL is turned on and the external connections are allowed on our side. Can you check with Generate press as I don’t see any blocks from our side too?

Hi there,

“Auto-updates” means the plugin will update itself without you prompting it to.

At this time, we don’t support this feature.

However, you will still be able to click the “Update now” link manually once an update is available.

So does that mean that I will have to manually keep checking the admin dashboard periodically for GeneratePress Premium update availability?

Is there a way to not use the built in auto-update feature but have the plugin automatically update?

Yes, you’ll need to manually click the update link if an update is available. We’ll be looking at integrating with automatic updates in 2.2.0.

There’s no other way to do it right now, unfortunately.
