Where is slideout menu?

Why is it so hard to get the slideout menu to work? I have activated the slideout menu in the layout settings and added the slideout menu to menu 1 but I don't see it anywhere.

It looks like you made it mobile only.
You can set it to desktop only, or both in Customize > Layout > Slideout Navigation.
No, I have set it to both.

I think that was the problem. I had tried that but the button is so small I didn't notice it. Thanks for the help.
