When I go to mobile the header widget does not show up...

Have you considered using GP's mobile header feature? It should look slick if you use upload the icon as mobile header logo :)

Actually, the reason your header widget isn't displaying is because you're using the Mobile Header option (Customize > Layout > Header).

The purpose of the mobile header is to compact the header on mobile so users get to your content quicker. This means hiding the larger desktop header (widget included).
