What size is header pic supposed to be ?

I used to be able to find out what size my header photo should be but I can not seem to find it. I put in a header but there is way to much space below it, I have the spacing add on and at 0 top and 0 bottom its still looking way to large. Does anyone know the header pic size?
The header size is completely up to you.
The width is dependent on the container width you have set (http://www.generatepress.com/knowledgebase/choosing-container-width/).
The height is up to you.
Do you have a link for your site so I can see this extra spacing?
http://silencethemind.com/ is the website name and I will fool around with the hight size for the header pic. just trying to get it to look more smaller like yours ( dont want so much space at bottom

Cannot adjust container height, my header image is always cropped.

Not sure what you mean? Are you uploading your header in "Customize > Site Identity"?
