What is the point of the container layout in the customizer?

I can see the setting is working on blog page.
Any chance you can link us to the page has issue? I guess it's a static page which customizer does NOT control.

Oh I did not know that the customizer does not work for a static page. May I ask what is the difference between a static page on generatepress and a non-static page?

This is a WordPress thing and not a theme-specific thing.
Static pages are the pages you create manually. Non-static pages (index pages) are pages that generated automatically by WordPress such as the posts page and categories archives etc.
