What is the difference between Permalink custom URL with "/" and Without "/"

In Permalink Settings, I selected Custom Structure (/%postname%/). But I removed "/" at the end. After this change, my URL looks like "www.mysite.com/my-first-post". While the default would be "www.mysite.com/my-first-post/". Can you elaborate what is the difference between these two structures? With '/' and without '/' at the end of URL.?

This isn't really a question for the GP's support as the theme doesn't control permalink.
