What is new in 1.3.48 and how to best manage footer widget widths?

Questions, Questions, Questions ...

1) I wonder what's new in today's theme update?

2) Can the width of footer widgets be adjusted from within the theme?
https://www.littlecomposers.com uses all 5 footer widget locations and I'd like the first one to be a bit wider.

3) What plugin do you guys suggest to show specific widgets only on pages I want them to show?

Making it easier to adjust each footer width in the Customizer is something I really want to do :)
