[Support request] What happens if I want to change themes in the future

I am building a new site, and my preference is to use with GeneratePress Premium and GenerateBlocks Pro.

My question is: what will happen in the future if for some reason I decide to change to a different theme? I still have nightmares from the mess and broken code I got years ago when I switched one of my sites to GP from a page builder.

Will this happen with GeneratePress and GenerateBlocks as well? Or will the switch be smooth?

Hi there,

switching themes poses no issue, you will just lose certain functionality of the theme, such as the customizer settings you applied or the GP Elements you may have added.

for GenerateBlocks you could keep that installed regardless of the theme.
If that is removed though then it will leave the HTML behind and WP will give you the option to convert that content in the editor.

But what it won’t do in any instance is leave a load of shortcodes to clean up 🙂
