[Resolved] What happens if I delete Page layout element? Looking for a sidebar

Hi there. I am looking to add a sidebar to my posts. I have added a sidebar within the customizer but I only get white space and not a sidebar. I assume this is because the theme template I used has an element for a single page outline. Do I need to create widget within this element to allow the sidebar to show?? My website can be found below.

Hi Derek,

Where are you adding the widgets? Can you try adding a sidebar widget through Appearance > Widgets > Right Sidebar?

Let us know how it goes.

If you want to add widgets solely for the sidebar of Posts, create a Block Element – Sidebar, and add the Widget/Block there instead.

Hi Fernando. Thanks for the reply.

I already have an element (that came with the template) that is called “single post content” which shows a placeholder for the content and an author bio box. Would a new block element overwrite this??

On top of this, I also have a “single post hero” element showing how the post should look. I’m worried that I have too many of these and my page speeds are already slowish. What is the best option here? Delete all elements and start fresh??

Thats the themes right sidebar that is being displayed, but it only has one empty block and a bunch of ezoic advert placeholders.

What should be in the sidebar ?

Those elements won’t have any direct and negative effect on your site performance.
