Hi Tom, just got a client to buy premium, and I cannt find a way to make the BODY Full Width, versus constrained?
Hi there,
the Layout > Page Builder meta allows you set individual pages to full width.
GP 1.7 (release candidate) adds this to the new Elements module, which comes with display rules e.g Entire site / Pages etc.
Or you can change the entire site before 1.7 with this CSS:
body .grid-container {
max-width: 100%;
}
Hi David, Why was it taken out?
IE: Customize / Layout / Body / Constrained / Full width?
Hi there,
That was never an option in GP.
It's usually better just to set the Container Width option to a very high value (2500px), as 100% can cause issues on big screens.
Yes it was, you haven't been around that long.
Maybe you're thinking about the "Content Layout" option in that section? Or maybe there's another theme you're thinking of?
In GPP 1.7, you can create a new "Layout" element. This will allow you to set the "Container" to Full Width, and apply it to the entire site: https://generatepress.com/gp-premium-1-7/
Hi Tom, so Im wrong, there never was a:
Customize / Layout / Body / Body Width/ Constrained or Full?
Along with the other?
Customize / Layout / Header / Header Width / Contained or Full
Customize / Layout / Primary Nav / Nav Width / Contained or Full
Customize / Layout / Footer / Footer Width / Contained or Full
That's correct, we don't have that option. We decided against it as it would look super messy on archive/blog pages.
Instead, I would definitely look into using GPP 1.7 with a "Layout" Element :)
“Layout Element"?
And apologies to you David for my GOOF!
