What happend to Child theme "MANTLE" and other older child themes?

There used to be 5-7 of em, and there NOT in this site Library. Would you please defer this to TOM, since you werent here PRE site library Leo?

We stopped producing child themes, especially on WordPress.org. The idea behind it was flawed, as the whole point of child themes is that they don't get updated (so they can hold your custom CSS/PHP).

No it's not - importing a site library templates does not add a child theme to your site.

As for Mantle, I just randomly found that page but the Download Now link no longer works :)
