    Hey there,

I am looking for a forum plugin, one that is minimal, light code and super fast so it doesn’t slow up my site. Oh, and doesn’t require me to be a developer to make it work.

Although I don’t’ mind paying someone to set it up and customise the look to my site.

I see that GP uses BBPress (well I think you do), and wondered if you recommend it or something else?

Basically I want something that just lists topics (I think the word is asynchronous) as you have in this forum, rather topics listed under numerous categories. So similar to a feed.

Does that make sense? Hope so.

Anyhoo, any pointers or recommendations of folks who could help me out would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

    Hi there,

bbPress is stable and used by WordPress.org, which means it will continue to be updated. That’s the main reason why we use it.

If I could choose, I would take a good hard look at Discourse as well.

    Thanks, Tom appreciate your advice.

Only downside of Discourse is it costs $100 a month, which I would need to pay as I am competent self-hosting it.

Yea, that’s a big cost for sure. bbPress is definitely a good option 🙂
