Weird characters after post URL
4 replies · Started by Vasco on January 9, 2021
Hello,
Every time I open a post of mine while logged out from WordPress, I get these weird characters after the post URL:
#.X_nQhi2cbOQ or #.X_nRCy2cbOQ or #.X_nQfeDgrOQ, etc.
The characters keep changing, except for the first five: #.X_n
They always appear on Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.
Is this something to worry about?
Hi there,
looks like it could be a tracking link - if you're using any tracking plugins on the site, it is most like the cause.
But the characters change every time I refresh the page. It appears in every post and page.
I'm using Thirsty Affiliates to track some affiliate links, but now I deactivated it. The characters persist though. I believe the plugin has nothing do to with it.
Found the issue. It's the plugin Website Tools by AddThis.
Thanks!
Glad you found the culprit :)
