GP and GP Premium are extremely lightweight and would not have any negative effect on your site.
I ran a GT Metrix test on your site - the Front Page is making 224 requests.
To put this into context generatepress.com makes 39 requests.
The majority of your requests are coming from 3rd party servers - primarily advert servers.
To improve the speed of your site you will need to significantly reduce the number of requests.
